Tonight, UFC 283 goes down and here at ATF, we’re going to predict both title fights: Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill and Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno.
Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill
Angus: Teixeira - I think this goes pretty similar to Teixeira vs Błachowicz, Glover is going to take Jamahal Hill down and win via ground and pound or submission, I can see it going either way.
Ash: Teixeira - I’m backing my pick of Glover, obviously if Jamahal Hill lands you never know and looking back to his knockout of Walker it was unbelievable.
JK: Teixeira - This is a tough one, on one hand, I can see Hill getting another highlight reel knockout to cap off one of the more impressive rises to the belt in recent history. However, I’m going with Glover, he’s walking around Brazil like a champion right now and I think his grappling and defensive work will be enough to regain that belt.
Si: Teixeira - My heart says Glover, but my head says Hill... But I can't look past the fairytale of Glover in Brazil so I’m going Teixeira.
Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno
Angus: Figueiredo - This one comes with a *but*, I believe Figueiredo will get the job done on Saturday night if and only if he has a good weight cut, from what he told us on Ariel’s show, he’s roughly 4 kilograms off right now so it seems likely he’ll make weight safely. That, coupled with Moreno’s split from James Krause means I see this going only one way.
Ash: Figueiredo - I’m picking Figueiredo, I think Deiveson is far stronger than Brandon Moreno and it will be a big factor heading into their quadrilogy fight.
JK: Figueiredo - The fact that Figueiredo is on home soil will benefit him and he’s going in with confidence. Last time out he knocked Moreno down twice and that’ll play a big part in this fourth fight between the two.
Si: Moreno - I’m going to go with Moreno on this one, Moreno has been more active and the fact that Figueiredo has only fought Moreno in the past 3 years will play a part.
