Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman 3
Angus: Edwards - This is a heart over head prediction here, but let me explain. Usman’s a lot older, his knees are shot and has talked about retirement recently (never a good look.) Whereas Leon is at home, lower altitude and has the confidence that he knows he can knock out Kamaru. Give me Rocky AndStill!
Si: Usman - I think Leon has shown what he can do, he has to find another weakness in Usman’s gameplan and I don’t think he’ll find it.
Ash: Usman - Usman is still favourite and I back him to do it. My heart says Leon but my head unfortunately says Usman, it’s just how it is sometimes. He has better grappling, power, speed and cardio and he’s gonna get it done.
JK: Edwards - Conceive, believe, achieve. Round 2 KO.
Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev
Angus: Fiziev - I don’t think this is going to be as close as some are making it out to be. Fiziev SHOULD pick apart Gaethje to a points decision with an eye on a future megafight for the Azerbaijani.
Si: Gaethje - Fiziev has more tools in his arsenal and he’s got a great fight IQ too and some of his knockouts come from skillful, wise technique. If it falls into a chess match, it works for Fiziev, Gaethje wants to make it scrappy. With that being said, I think Gaethje will get the job done though.
Ash: Gaethje - I think Fiziev has been on a good run, RDA was taking him close, Bobby Green outstruck him and I think Gaethje will be the one to end his good run.
JK: Fiziev - I think Fiziev is more well rounded in the striking department and I just can’t see Gaethje taking him down as Dos Anjos couldn’t. If Gaethje wins, it’ll be because he’s cracked him with an uppercut but I can’t see it happening so I’ve got Fiziev decision.
