Tonight, UFC 286 goes down and here at ATF, we’re going to give our predictions on the main and co-main event. Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya and Gilbert Burns vs Jorge Masvidal.
Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya
Angus: Pereira - I just think Alex has Izzy’s number here and Adesanya just can’t beat him. I think Pereira gets it done fairly quickly under Glover’s training and gets the knockout in round 2.
Si: Adesanya - It’s a law of averages thing and it looks to me that Pereira wins 3/5 times. This next time Izzy gets it right!
Taylor: Pereira - I hope Pereira wins the main, however saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if Izzy reclaims the title.
Ash: Pereira - Honestly I see Pereira knocking out Izzy even sooner this time. Give me Alex Pereira all day long.
JK: Pereira - I just see Pereira’s power as being too much for Adesanya and he’s going to get it done again.
Gilbert Burns vs Jorge Masvidal
Angus: Masvidal - Give me Jorge all day, first Miami card in 20 years, I see a knockout in the third round. Burns can’t submit him, can’t knock him out, his only path to victory is laying and praying and he knows that wouldn’t get him a title shot if he does that.
Si: Masvidal - I was Burns up until this very second but in this moment I feel like Masvidal’s luck has restocked. He’s going to get the surprise bang or a shocking decision. It shouldn’t happen but I think it will.
Taylor: Burns - I just can’t see a path to victory for Masvidal, give me Gilbert Burns.
Ash: Burns - I just hope Burns doesn't get too confident on the feet with Masvidal but i feel Burns will win by decision.
JK: Burns - I can’t see a path to victory for Masvidal, I think Burns is better everywhere and will put his grappling to good use.
