UFC Fight Night: Vera vs. Sandhagen on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 looks set to be a great night of fights headlined by a barnburner, which will have significant implications in the Bantamweight division.
In the main event, we have number 3 vs number 5 in the Bantamweight division in Vera and Sandhagen respectively. Marlon “Chito” Vera is coming off of an impressive knockout win over Dominick Cruz whilst Cory Sandhagen beat Yadong Song via a doctor's stoppage in the fourth round.
The co-main event features UFC veteran Holly Holm taking on Yana Santos (formerly Yana Kunitskaya.) Both Women have an identical record of 14-6 and could be important in the Women’s Bantamweight division with ranks 3 and 6 going head to head, however, both fighters are coming off of losses and will be desperate to get back into the win column.
Third from the top is Nate Landwehr vs Austin Lingo. Landwehr is coming into the bout on a two-fight winning streak beating Ľudovít Klein and David Onama and will want to add a third win to his record to send waves through the Featherweight division. Lingo is also on a two-fight winning streak with Luis Saldaña and Jacob Kilburn the names on his record.
Another fight on the main card sees Andrea “KGB” Lee taking on Maycee “The Future” Barber. It’s rank 11 vs 13 in the Women’s Flyweight division with Maycee Barber being very verbal on her dream to become UFC Champion.
In the Flyweight division, former title challenger and number 6 ranked flyweight Alex Perez is taking on the rising newcomer and number 9 ranked Manel Kape. Perez has had 8 cancelled bouts since his last title fight against Figueiredo and will just be happy to get back into the octagon after his awful string of bad luck. Manel “Starboy” Kape is on a three-fight winning streak and is looking to extend his run with a view to fighting for the title in the near future.
Opening the main card is 22-8 Chidi Njokuani vs 15-4 Albert Duraev. Njokuani last time out lost to Robocop as Duraev lost to Joaquin Buckley, both fights ending in round 2 TKOs. Despite both of these results, both guys are top Middleweights and with a win, could look to break into the top 15 very soon.
