UFC FIGHT NIGHT: Covington Vs Buckley – Main Card Preview.

On December 14, 2024, UFC Fight Night at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, promises an action packed evening, headlined by former welterweight champion Colby Covington and Joaquin Buckley in a top 10 showdown in the welterweight division. Covington looks to get back in the win column after his loss to Leon Edwards last December, while Joaquin Buckley is on an incredible run so far in his switch to the division, knocking out Wonder-boy Thompson in his last outing. He is looking to cement his name in the top 5 in the division if he can put Colby away.


The Main Card also features:

Cub Swanson Vs Billy Quarantillo (FW) - This is featherweight Fireworks! Veteran Cub Swanson will face off against the relentless Billy Quarantillo. Swanson a seasoned striker, seeks to prove he can still compete against hungry contenders. Quarantillo, known for his high pressure fighting style and durability, looks to secure a signature win over the veteran.

 



Manel Kape Vs Bruno Silva (FLW) -  Kape, a dynamic striker and former RIZIN champion seeks to get back in the win column after his loss to Mohammed Mokaev at UFC 304. No doubt he will look to put on an electrifying performance. Silva, known for his explosive power and grappling prowess looks to derail Kape’s momentum and make his mark. This matchup promises fast paced action and technical exchanges.

 

Vitor Petrino Vs Dustin Jacoby (LHW) -  both fighters, known for their knockout power, aim to rebound after recent losses. Petrino suffered the first defeat of his career via submission in May, while Jacoby was stopped by Dominick Reyes in May. With a combined 19 career knockouts, fans can expect an explosive encounter as Petrino’s aggressiveness  clashes with Jacoby’s striking pedigree. This matchup is pivotal for both men, as they look to climb the Light Heavyweight ranks.

 

Adrian Yanez Vs Daniel Marcos (FW)  – Yanez, known for his sharp boxing and finishing ability, recently rebounded with a first round TKO over Vinicius Salvador in May. Marcos, a Peruvian rising star, has maintained an unbeaten record at 16-0 with notable wins over John Castaneda and Saimon Oliveira. This fight marks a significant test for both men. Yanez seeks to regain his momentum in the division, while Marcos looks to solidify his claim as a top prospect by taking on a seasoned competitor.

 



Navajo Stirling Vs Tuco Tokkos (LHW) – Stirling, a standout from New Zealand’s City Kickboxing, enters the fight with an undefeated 5-0 record and a reputation as a knockout artist. Tokkos, a seasoned competitor with roots in England and training experience at Kill Cliff, is looking for his first ever UFC win.
